Solar Power
We all recognise the desire for a sustainable approach to modern living and solar power has been a dream of many who wish to lighten their impact on our planet whilst still maintaining their contemporary lifestyle.
Grid connect systems, often located in built up areas, supply solar electricity through an inverter directly to the household and to the electricity grid if the system is providing more energy than the house needs. When power is supplied back to the mains grid, the home owner usually receives a credit against their power bill for that electricity.
How does a grid connected solar power system work?
A grid connect solar power system is made up of an array, including solar modules (panels), and an inverter, which converts the DC output of the modules into normal AC electricity

1 - PV Array - Converts solar energy to DC electricity.
2 - Inverter - Converts DC electricity to AC electricity to use or export to the grid.
3 - Electricity to House - will be drawn from the solar system first and any excess drawn from the Grid.
4 - Bi-directional meter - Allows meter to read electricity going both directions, so electricity can be sold back into the Grid
5 - Grid - Your conventional energy source where you currently draw all of your power.
Benefits & Incentives
The benefits of solar power and grid connect solar power for your home or commercial premises in Perth or WA are many. For example, imagine owning a solar power system that produces enough power to feed it back into the grid and get paid for it. Imagine a home that has less impact on our climate but still runs all the mod-cons such as TVs, PCs and other electrical appliances. Imagine a property that increases in value because it is future ready and has in built savings for a potential buyer.
All this is now available to you whether you are building or retro fitting an existing residential or commercial premise. With the Government’s new solar credits rebate on offer, you can significantly reduce the upfront cost of your new solar power system.
Incentives for installing a solar power system
- The Federal Government's rebate under the solar credits rebate offers a discount off the upfront cost.
- The State Government's Renewable Buyback Scheme (REBS) of 7c p/kWh is payable for each kilowatt of power that is feed back into the grid. (Residental premises only)
- Reduction in electricity consumption/ costs.
- Less affected by future electricity price increases.
There are so many great reasons to install a solar power system.
