Energy Management
Energy efficiency is as important as sourcing your power from a renewable energy source. By implementing some basic energy efficiency principles in your commercial or residential premises, you can achieve a greater energy saving and emissions reduction for less than almost any other measure.
In order to achieve greater energy efficiency, Renewablelogic can provide you with professional advice in the form of an Energy Audit. An Energy Audit will; highlight what your current energy usage is; offer alternative methods to reduce your usage and provide recommendations for investment in renewable energy initiatives.
To get started all you need to do is provide details of your last 24 months energy bills. We will analyse them, conduct an audit your commercial or residential premises and provide you with a detailed report.
An energy audit can take as little as one hour, and provide ongoing energy cost reductions for years to come.
Types of Energy Audits
Renewable Logic provides Professional Energy Audits in accordance with the Australian Standards in Energy Audits (AS/NZS 3598:2000). An Energy Audit will show you how to be efficient with your current energy use, and provide recommendations for future energy related investment decisions.
Energy Audits can include an analysis of the following components:
-
Energy Consumption Data (minimum of 2 years).
-
Lighting (type & lux levels).
-
Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC).
-
Hot Water System(s).
-
Building Condition.
-
Building Use Schedule.
-
Temperature and Humidity.
-
Major energy consuming office equipment. (e.g. Computers, Photocopiers, Fridges, etc)
Level 1 Energy Audit –
The Level 1 Energy Audit is a simple exercise that provides an overview, and directions for further investigation. Its main use is to determine whether the level of energy use on the premises is reasonable or excessive, to highlight any obvious efficiency measures, and to provide initial benchmarks so that the impact of energy efficiency measures can be tracked and evaluated. It can also be used to plan a more comprehensive evaluation.
Note: A Level 1 audit is expected to give an overview, which provides rough orders of savings and costs. Accuracy of figures would generally be within +/- 40% (AS/NZS 3598:2000).
This includes the following:
• Report on current energy use pattern and status of energy efficiency.
• Report on identification of energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
Level 2 Energy Audit
The Level 2 Energy Audit is a reasonably detailed investigation of energy supply and use, and should provide clear recommendations for energy and cost-saving measures, along with the costs and benefits of each.
Note: A Level 2 audit is an energy use survey, which is expected to provide preliminary assessment of costs and savings. Accuracy of figures would generally be within +/- 20% (AS/NZS 3598:2000).
This includes the following:
· Report on current energy use pattern and status of energy efficiency.
· Report on identification of energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
· Strategic plan on implementation of energy efficiency including costs and benefits.
Level 3 Energy Audit –
The Level 3 Energy Audit should provide all the forgoing but at a much greater level of accuracy. It should be performed by a trained energy performance contractor, who may employ specialists or need to install meters or other technology.
Note: A Level 3 audit is expected to provide a firm estimate of savings and costs. Accuracy of figures would be within +10% for costs and -10% for benefits (AS/NZS 3598:2000).
This includes the following:
• Report on current energy use pattern and status of energy efficiency.
• Report on identification of energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
• Strategic plan on implementation of energy efficiency including costs and benefits.
• Development of a Business Energy Management Policy/Plan.
